Spoiler alert!!!!! Taxi driver the movie

Taxi driver with Robert deniro... If you never saw it then you're insane or young so again SPOILER ALERT (I have to do that because I hate when people ruin the end of movies) but ok.... Remember how it ends? Well it's not what it seems... It ends with him killing the pimp and gangsters right? Then the street girl (Iris) goes back to her parents and he goes back to his job and sees that girl he briefly dated at the end right? Ok.... Now this is not fact but it almost should be. I watch #MartinScorsese movies like they're research and I know for a fact he tried to make a little subliminal twist there for some who just might catch it.
   Who do you know commits 3 murders like that (regardless if he was a self proclaimed superhero or not) and at the very least does not get let go from his job? Lol... Come on now...out of the hospital and goes RIGHT back to work labeled a hero without even a shred of recoil? A bit far fetched for reality, no?
  Well........   (in my opinion anyway) This is what REALLY happened:

   Travis Fickle dies at the end. The rest was an illusion once he closed his eyes. He was dying and being taken into an ambulance, then a hospital. When he's driving the taxi cab you see white lights on the windshield over his face right? Well, he's on a stretcher and he's dying slowly... He imagines the girl named Iris (the 12yr old prostitute)'s parents writing him a thank you letter... He's dying and in a delusion. Then when he sees Betsy (the girl he took on a couple of dates) at the end and they are talking he is going deeper and deeper into death... When she goes to pay him and he refuses and says so long... He goes into a coma... & when he starts seeing those bright lights again? Well those are from the hospital... Those are bright hospital lights above him....you can even hear the stretcher previously being rolled in the hospital while seeing the lights! Also, before that, (if you listen very closely) you can even hear the stretcher being lifted into an ambulance and the ambulance's siren! (It's so vague but it's definitely there) When he drives away after dropping off Betsy he still sees the lights. Then, he awkwardly looks back and you hear the music quickly change for barely a second... Well that's when he finally dies... & Once he turns back to keep driving that's when he's officially dead, thus the credits roll. It was ALL a delusion. Right after he closes his eyes and lays back during the scene pictured below;

The rest is a hallucination... Watch it again closely. It may be a crazy anology but it makes so much sense if you dissect it apart. When travis (in his delusion) drives away after dropping Betsy off, he's the man that the character "the wizard" told him he will forever be...A taxi driver. (This is also why that same guy, "the wizard" is the one who particularly tells Travis that he has a fare while Betsy is already in Travis' car) Ponder it.... With a bit of an "out the box" approach and some common logic you can see this is all not that far fetched. & this concludes my crazy anology of this ultra classic work of art lol

Travis Bickle: Now I see this clearly. My whole life is pointed in one direction. There never has been a choice for me.

Senator Charles Palantine: We meet at a crossroads in history. No longer will the wrong roads be taken.

Funny how this is what the senator says once Travis shaves his head and finally makes that "choice"
